A performance rebuild of a booking platform's core web app
The problem
Deskline's booking flow was built on an older server-rendered stack that had accumulated years of unmanaged client-side JavaScript. Median load time on the booking page had crept to 4.1 seconds, and abandonment tracked with it.
The approach
Rebuilt the booking flow on Next.js with server components for the data-heavy views and a trimmed client bundle for the interactive parts, plus a caching layer in front of the availability API.
The outcome
Median page load dropped to 900ms. Booking-flow abandonment fell 22% in the eight weeks following launch.
